Every number in a Backpocket verdict is computed from the inputs on this page. Nothing on a verdict is generated by a language model. If you find math that's wrong, that's a bug — tell us and we'll fix it in the open.
Where offer numbers come from.
Elevated-offer data is captured from public sources — primarily Doctor of Credit — on a schedule, every few hours. Each offer carries its capture date and source in the interface. We don't list targeted or referral offers you can't verify yourself.
How cards are valued.
Two framings, always both: cash back (points at their cash floor) and transferable points (published transfer-partner valuations, shown per program). We never invent a cents-per-point number for a verdict that isn't in the valuation table on this page.

Chase 5/24. Chase 24-month same-card cooldown. Sapphire 48-month family rule. Amex once-per-lifetime language. Citi 48-month family clocks. Minimum-spend feasibility against your stated spend. Duplicate holdings. When a rule can't be checked from what you've told us, the verdict says so instead of guessing.
What Backpocket doesn't do.
No affiliate links — verdicts carry no application link at all. No bank logins or credential storage. No approval-odds guessing. No targeted-offer claims. Deterministic results are never presented as AI.
Where AI is used.
One place: chat. Chat answers work from the same computed facts as everything else, and the numbers in chat come from the calculator, not the language model. Verdicts, audits, and card checks involve no AI at all.
